Juozas Kupčinskas
Prof. Juozas Kupčinskas is the Head of the Department of Gastroenterology at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas, Lithuania. He also leads the Microbiome Excellence Center at the same institution. He is a member of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization (ECCO) Workgroup on Microscopic Colitis, serves as the ECCO National Representative for Lithuania, and is Secretary General of the European Microbiota & Helicobacter Study Group (EHMSG). His main research interests focus on translational research in the microbiome, gastrointestinal inflammation, organoids, and fecal microbiota transplantation. His research team is currently implementing several Horizon Europe–funded projects on inflammatory bowel diseases and premalignant gastrointestinal conditions and cancers including MiGutHealth, PerPrevCid, AIDA, TOGAS+, ONCODIR, ONCOSCREEN.
