Dr. Giedrius Gasiūnas is CEO and co-founder of Caszyme. With almost 20 years of experience in CRISPR-Cas research, he was part of the team that demonstrated Cas9 to be a programmable RNA-guided DNA endonuclease. His work focuses on the discovery, development, and application of novel CRISPR-Cas systems and gene-editing tools. He has co-authored more than 30 scientific publications and is a co-inventor on several CRISPR-Cas-related patents and patent applications. In 2017, he was awarded the Lithuanian Science Prize for his contributions to CRISPR-Cas research.
