Vika Jaskeviciute

Vika is a 5th year medical student and a student representative on various university committees, departments and the Senate itself. As part of her personal development, she does a lot of volunteering, and internships in clinics, learns from professionals in the field, and has a lot of interest and participation in conferences. She is a paramedic because she believes that knowledge and practice are never too much. In 2022, she founded the Rare Diseases Group, which belongs to the Student Scientific Society, and she is the chair of the group for the second year in a row.
“There are currently around 10,000 rare diseases, so there is a good chance that we will encounter at least one person with a rare disease in our lifetime. Rare diseases are multidisciplinary diseases that require collaboration not only between doctors but also between nurses, physiotherapists, and other specialists. This is one of the main drivers that interests me”, says Vika.
